The Metro Detroit Area of MDC serves as a vibrant spiritual hub rooted in one of Michigan’s most dynamic and diverse urban landscapes. Churches in this region embody a rich tapestry of worship styles, cultural expressions, and community engagement—each uniquely positioned to respond to the evolving needs of their neighborhoods while united in Christ-centered mission.

Rev. Nikita McCalister serves as the Associate Regional Minister (ARM) for the Metro Detroit Area. With wisdom, warmth, and prophetic insight, she walks alongside pastors and congregations offering relational support, leadership development, and a strong presence of encouragement. Her leadership is marked by clarity, compassion, and a deep understanding of transitional ministry needs.

In addition to her role within the Metro Detroit Area, Rev. McCalister also serves as the Consultant for Transitional Ministries across the region, helping guide congregations through seasons of change with grace and intentionality. She brings national perspective and experience to her work, having served as the former President of American Baptist Churches USA.
